With access to over 25 rooms fit for training in downtown Toronto alone (not counting hotels), we can find a space that fits your training program needs.

Most corporate event spaces are designed in one of two ways:  either to maximize the number of learners that can fit in a room or to keep the room as flexible as possible to handle any type of event.  And although that’s great for business, neither of these approaches are focused on the most important factor – the learner experience.  

Learner First™ Learning Studios are designed from the ground up with the learner in mind.  Our spaces keep learners focused longer,  allowing them to retain more of what they are taught.

Studies show that the physical learning environment can affect an adult’s ability to learn by as much as 25%.  And since improved knowledge transfer and retention lead to an improved ROI on your training expenditure, you owe it to yourself to ensure that your learners can actually retain the information they are given.

Comfortable Seating and Room to Move

If you want your learners to remain focused and engaged they need to be comfortable. In our studios, learner comfort is a prime concern.

Our space includes height adjustable chairs on wheels complete with lumbar support.

We limit our learning studios to a maximum number of participants to ensure enough space for each learner to be comfortable.

Focusing on Staying Focused

There are many unseen factors that can affect an adult learner’s ability to focus:

HVAC - When you rent a classroom in an event center you don’t control the HVAC and it can be difficult to maintain a comfortable temperature in a single room.

Noise - having exclusive use of the learning studio removes any chance of sound bleed from other rooms, a common concern in multi-room training centers.

Our learning studios are self contained spaces with independent, controllable HVAC systems that allow you to maintain the temperature for your learners. With no neighbouring sessions going on, sound bleed will not be an issue either.

Lighting to Help with Staying Alert

Ideally lighting in training rooms would follow a learner’s circadian rhythm, providing comforting, warmer light in the morning and stretching out learner’s peak focus, motivation and concentration times by providing a cooler light temperature period throughout the afternoon.

Our studio features full natural daylight combined with cooler temperature indoor LED lighting to help learners remain alert the entire day through. Using cooler temperature lighting helps reproduce lighting that occurs naturally at peak focus times during the day.

Your learning support concierge is there to help you get started in the morning and is only a call away the rest of the day.

Need to print something that you’ve forgotten? Simply email the document to our printer and it will print for you right in the learning studio

Carbon Credits

Each quarter we evaluate our carbon consumption based on space energy usage and participant travel estimates and purchase credits to offset our carbon footprint.

Carbon Neutral Carpeting

When looking at carpeting for our learning studios we chose to work with Interface Carpeting. Their line of carpeting is carbon neutral.

Energy Efficient Appliances

All of our major kitchen appliances are energy star. We utilize other strategies for reducing energy consumption by other electrical appliances.

Raw Office

Starting in 2020, Learner First™ will be purchasing consumable office supplies from RAW OFFICE. All supplies are environmentally friendly or offset with carbon credits.

Located conveniently in the heart of the financial district in downtown Toronto, our training center is easily accessible by both municipal and regional transit. Our PATH access means you never have to walk outside in the wintertime to get to or from transit.
